Hello, hello December!
For many, December means snow, warm coats and maybe snowman building. However, for us here in Central Texas, we are very used to experiencing 80 degree weather on Monday and a 50 degree cold front on Tuesday!
If we relied on the weather to tell us when this season came around, we’d never be sure here in Texas. Here at CTBC its easy to tell when the holidays hit because Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and Jingle Bells music swells through out the studio, leaking beneath the doors in studio A and B. Tiny dancers chassé around the Christmas tree in the window, like little sugar plum fairies.
This fall the tiny dancers of the studio have been preparing bits and pieces of Christmas dances, and Nutcracker variations to perform at the Sights and Sounds of Christmas festival here in San Marcos, and at the Emily Ann Trail of Lights in Wimberley.
The Pre-Primary, Primary, Kinderdance, Mother’s Morning Out and Foundation dancers will perform on Friday the 2nd at Sights and Sounds on the main stage. Saturday the 3rd, River City Ballet will perform excerpts from the Nutcracker at Sights and Sounds. On Sunday the 4th RCB will perform at Trail of Lights at 7pm.
The weather forecast for the weekend is not looking promising, but as of today, the performances remain on the schedule. Make sure to be checking your emails throughout the weekend though, because if anything changes your email will be the first to know!
This month we say happy birthday to the following dancers!
Paige Perusquia‘s 18th birthday is on December 4th!, Yaya (Yadira) Castro is turning 12 on December 8th!, Alex Esparza is turning 16 on December 24th!, Isabella Kirby will be 5 on December 26th!
